Welcome to Tribune’s Roar, a daily opinion blog for independent thinkers.
We started this platform for one simple reason: We are tired of the noise.
Our national conversation has become a zero-sum game, a team sport where every complex issue is forced into one of two boxes: Left or Right, Red or Blue, Us or Them. We are told to pick a side, dig in, and treat every issue as a battle to be won rather than a problem to be solved.
We believe this is a false choice.
Our Philosophy: Beyond the Binary
At Tribune’s Roar our core philosophy is that reality is found in the nuance.
The most difficult problems we face are never one-sided. The best solutions are almost never found at the political extremes. And the two-party system is failing to provide the answers we need.
Our mission is to build a conversation outside of that broken binary. We do this not just to be a dissenting voice, but to find workable, non-partisan solutions that can actually make government work for the people again.
We are non-partisan, but not “neutral.” We believe in challenging ideas, asking hard questions, and holding all sides accountable—not to a party platform, but to a standard of reason, logic, and intellectual honesty. We don’t exist to tell you what to think, but to provide a perspective that helps you decide how to think about an issue.
What You Can Expect
This is an opinion blog. When you visit, you can expect commentary and analysis that is:
Respectful: We engage with ideas we disagree with in good faith, without resorting to outrage or straw-man arguments.
Independent: We are not beholden to any party, politician, or corporate agenda.
Multi-Faceted: We explore issues from multiple angles, seeking to understand the why behind the what.
Solution-Focused: We believe it’s more productive to build common ground than to simply tear down the other side.

Join the Conversation
This is not a one-way street. The goal of Tribune’s Roar is to foster a community of independent thinkers.
Your perspective is essential. We encourage you to read, share, and—most importantly—join the discussion in the comments. We only ask that you follow our one simple rule: Engage with the idea, not the person, and do so with respect.
Thank you for reading.
